Thank A Teacher

Hi Y’all!

I’m Jazmine Farmer, Founder and CEO of Calamity Jane’s Apparel. Calamity Jane’s started in May 2013 when an F-5 tornado devastated Moore, Oklahoma, the community that my family and I lived in. At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom to my two young children, but wanted to do something to give back. I decided I could create a t-shirt centered around our community and state pride, and give the proceeds back to help those who needed it most. Thinking I’d sell a few dozen, I ended up selling thousands and that’s how Calamity Jane’s was born.  

Going back to our original roots of giving back, we are so excited to announce the launch of our new program: “THANK A TEACHER”.   Starting now, we will be giving back 10% of our net profits from ALL online retail purchases, to teachers and classrooms. We will be accepting teacher submissions from you, our loyal customers, and choosing at least one teacher, each month to receive a $1,000 check from Calamity Jane’s – no strings attached. Our first “THANK A TEACHER” recipient will be at the end of April. We hope that as this program picks up momentum, we are able to add additional teachers each month, to “thank”. Also, we will be putting a portion of our proceeds aside, so that we are able to purchase classroom supplies in August for different schools.  

This is where we need YOU. We need your help each month, to submit teachers names and to help spread the word about our “THANK A TEACHER” program by purchasing your favorite Calamity Jane’s items online at, joining our VIP group, liking and sharing our social media pages, and telling your friends. The more people get involved, the more this program can grow! And to encourage the momentum of this program, we will be offering FREE SHIPPING on all regular-priced, online purchases and FREE EXCHANGES in case your shirt doesn’t fit perfect.  

Also, we wanted to give you a first glimpse at our NEW and EXCLUSIVE online collection that will be available online only at Our first shirt in this collection was supposed to launch at the end of April in time for Teacher Appreciation Week, but we feel like right now is the perfect time to “use your teacher voice”. Exclusive items on our website will be printed in limited numbers, so be sure and order yours before they sell out!
